PORTLAND, Maine – Downtown Portland will come alive with music on Thursday, August 20, as Catcha Vibe kicks off an evening of live performances as part of the Concerts on Congress series.
Presented by The Portland Museum of Art, State Theatre, Friends of Congress Square Park, One Longfellow Square, and Portland Downtown, Concerts on Congress transforms Congress Street into a celebration of local music, arts, and community. The free event invites visitors to explore multiple locations and experience a diverse lineup of performances throughout the evening.
The festivities begin at 4:30 p.m. in Monument Square, where Catcha Vibe, presented by Portland Downtown, will bring its signature blend of reggae and world rhythms to the heart of the city.
Fresh off a summer of sold-out performances and community celebrations, Catcha Vibe has been making waves across Maine in 2026. The band headlined this year's Sugarloaf Mountain Reggae Festival and has spent the summer as the featured artist for their weekly Good Vibes Wednesday residency at Thompson's Point, drawing audiences from across the region. Founded in Portland in 2003, Catcha Vibe has grown into one of New England's premier reggae and world music acts.
Following Catcha Vibe's performance, the music continues just up Congress Street with Tall Heights performing at 5:00 p.m. in the Portland Museum of Art's Shaw Family Sculpture Park, followed by Toby McAllister & The Sierra Sounds at 6:00 p.m. in Congress Square Park.
