Catcha Vibe Announces “Good Vibes Wednesdays” Summer Residency at Thompson’s Point
PORTLAND, MAINE — Catcha Vibe is excited to announce a brand new weekly summer residency at Thompson’s Point in Portland, Maine. Beginning May 27 and continuing every Wednesday evening through Labor Day, the band will headline the new “Good Vibes Wednesdays” concert series from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM.
The series will feature live reggae and world music vibes on the waterfront alongside food vendors, drinks, dancing, and community gathering throughout the summer season.
Known throughout New England for their energetic live performances and deep roots in reggae, Afrobeat, funk, jazz, and world music, Catcha Vibe has become one of Maine’s most recognized reggae acts. The band has performed extensively across the Northeast and has been a longtime favorite at Thompson’s Point Summer Sunsets, Sugarloaf Reggae Festival, and venues and festivals throughout Vacationland and beyond.
“This is something we’re really excited about,” says drummer and band manager Mai Kheet (Michael Heatley). “We’ve had a long relationship with Thompson’s Point over the years, and the idea of building a weekly reggae and world music gathering in Portland all summer long feels really special. We’re looking forward to creating a positive community vibe week after week.”
The residency will feature Catcha Vibe’s signature blend of cool island sounds, worldly riddims, conscious lyrics, and dance-heavy grooves, with rotating food vendors and special guests expected throughout the season.
Good Vibes Wednesdays officially launches Wednesday, May 27 at Thompson’s Point in Portland, Maine.
